DISRUPTIVE INNOVATION AND SUSTAINABLE ENTREPRENEURSHIP: A STUDY OF SELECTED TELECOMMUNICATION INDUSTRIES IN SOUTH EAST NIGERIA

Abstract

This study examines the intersection of disruptive innovation and sustainable entrepreneurship in selected telecommunication industries in South East Nigeria. The telecommunication sector plays a vital role in economic development and social connectivity, but it also faces challenges in terms of environmental sustainability and social impact. Disruptive innovations, characterized by their transformative nature and potential for reshaping industries, offer opportunities for sustainable entrepreneurship in the telecommunication sector. This study investigates the application of disruptive innovation strategies and their impact on sustainable entrepreneurship practices in selected telecommunication companies. Through qualitative research methods, including interviews and case studies, the study explores the adoption of disruptive technologies, business models, and social initiatives that promote sustainability in the telecommunication industry. The findings shed light on the potential of disruptive innovation in driving sustainable entrepreneurship, fostering environmental responsibility, social inclusivity, and economic growth in the telecommunication sector.
