Abstract

Child labor remains a critical issue in many developing countries, including Ethiopia, where children's education and overall well-being are adversely affected. This study focuses on the determinants and impact of child labor on children's education performance in Chiro Woreda, located in the Western Hararghe Zone of the Oromia National Regional State in Ethiopia. The research investigates the factors contributing to child labor, examines its consequences on children's educational outcomes, and explores potential interventions to mitigate its negative effects. Through a mixed-methods approach involving surveys, interviews, and data analysis, this study aims to provide valuable insights into the complex relationship between child labor and education performance in the specific context of Chiro Woreda. The findings will contribute to the development of evidence-based policies and interventions aimed at eradicating child labor and improving educational opportunities for children in the region.
