EFFECTIVENESS OF MULTIMEDIA INSTRUCTION FOR TEACHING EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY
Abstract
This article evaluates the effectiveness of multimedia instruction for teaching educational technology. A pretest-posttest control group design was used with 100 undergraduate students randomly assigned to either a multimedia instruction group or a traditional lecture group. The multimedia instruction group received instruction using a multimedia package that included text, images, audio, and video, while the traditional lecture group received instruction using traditional lecture methods. The results showed that the multimedia instruction group outperformed the traditional lecture group on both multiple-choice and open-ended questions. The findings suggest that multimedia instruction is an effective approach for teaching educational technology.
